The basis of any good video is research. If we’re going to tell your story, we need to know all the relevant facts and information. The research phase begins with the goal—what is this specific video hoping to communicate? We also want to know about your audience—who exactly is this video for? Looking over any past videos that you have created will give us context, as well as any pertinent decks, white papers, or reports. If your industry is new to us, we will also want to learn about that as well.

Sure, we could fake it, and just deliver the exact information that you tell us to. But we’d rather understand the wider context that the video is anchored in, which will later be reflected in the content itself.

Now it’s time to shape the story into a script and a storyboard. All of those facts and info gathered in the research phase are the clay that we use to mold your story. In this phase, several questions are answered—What is the most effective way to deliver the video’s message? What tone is best to achieve the video’s goal? What’s the ideal length of the video? How will your brand’s unique identity be expressed through the content? 

It’s important to answer these questions during the Writing & Planning phase, not later on, and we’ll work with you closely to develop the content that you want. With a clear plan developed, we’ll save time and money by figuring things out on paper, not during production or in the editing room. For this reason, Writing and Planning is arguably the most important phase. 

It’s finally happening! Time to execute the clear plan we developed in the last phase. For a live-action video, we go out into the field and use our professional equipment to capture your story. This could mean shooting interviews at your company, hiring actors, recording voice-over artists, or simply capturing beautiful images. In general, production can be expensive, so we use our many years of experience to keep costs low and production value high. 

For an animated video, the creation phase means executing the storyboard and designs–using dynamic text and visuals to deliver key information. Animation can be time-consuming and therefore expensive, so we’re always planning things carefully so that we can deliver a high-quality animation in the smallest amount of time.  

In this last phase, all of the elements come together. We return to that script and storyboard in order to assemble the content into the right order, with the appropriate pacing, effects, and music. This is the phase when we get especially O.C.D.—meticulously peering over every moment to make sure we’re telling the story right. 

Hopefully, our script was great and there’s minimal head-scratching here, but there’s always the option of adding new elements in order to get across the correct message. You’ll have the chance to review the final video a few times so that everything is to your liking.
